Brief Itinerary
Trip Description
Cave Swallow photo

This trip is one of our 'slower-paced' trips, ideal for the
birder who wants to see the specialty birds of south Texas,
but without spending full days in the field.

Each day, we will be up early enough to be in the field soon
after sunrise (around 7:20), taking advantage of the cooler
temperatures and the increased bird activity. Following a
leisurely lunch, there will be birding or travel time before
heading to the hotel for an afternoon rest. Following early
evening dinners, you will have the option of a short evening
birding activity.

Some of the target species for this trip include: Least
Grebe, Gray Hawk, White-tailed Hawk, Crested Caracara,
Aplomado Falcon, Red-billed Pigeon, Green Parakeet,
Red-crowned Parrot, Groove-billed Ani, Common
Pauraque, Buff-bellied Hummingbird, Ringed Kingfisher,
Green Kingfisher, Golden-fronted Woodpecker, Northern
Beardless-Tyrannulet, Great Kiskadee, Black-capped
Vireo, Green Jay, Brown Jay, Long-billed Thrasher,
Tropical Parula, Golden-cheeked Warbler, White-collared
Seedeater, Olive Sparrow, Altamira Oriole, Audubon's
Oriole.

NOTE: This trip begins in Brownsville and ends in San
Antonio.
