Day 1: Arrival to Santiago de Chile

Arrival into Santiago de Chile from our expected flights. We
will be transfer to your comfortable hotel for a good rest to
prepare for a terrific birding next day.

Day 2: Birding in Maipo Valley and El Yeso Reservoir

In the morning, we will be transferred to the famous Maipo
Valley, this valley is known for its good winery industry, in our
case we will stay in a comfortable hotel in this wonderful
temperature valley.
This early afternoon we will visit the El Yeso reserve and
neighboring areas looking for Chimango Caracara, Gray-
breasted Seedsnipe, Crag Chilia, Rufous-banded Miner,
Scale-throated Earthcreeper, Cordilleran Canastero,
Moustached Turca, Chilean Mockingbird, Austral Thrush,
Austral Blackbird and Common Diuca-Finch.

Day 3: Full day birding at El Yeso Reservoir and Beyond

Today we will spend an entire day looking for birds at the El
Yeso Reservoir and beyond were we look for the birds that
may have eluded the previous day and also for the
Diademed Sanpiper Plover, Andean Condor, White-sided
Hillstar, Long-tailed Meadowlark, Buff-winged Cinclodes,
Austral Negrito, Creamy-rumped Miner, Scale-throated
Earthcreeper,  Scale-throated Earthcreeper, Crag Chilia,
Gray-flanked Cinclodes, Lesser Canastero,  and Moustached
Turca. Late in the afternoon we will return to Santiago to our
comfortable hotel.

Day 4: Highland birding at Los Farallones, Valle Nevado
and La Parv

Today we will visit the highlands at the Valle Nevado ski
resort. The resort is 10,000 ft high looking for Chilean
Tinamou, Austral Pygmy-Owl, White-sided Hillstar, Rufous-
banded Miner, Scale-throated Earthcreeper,  Gray-flanked
Cinclodes, Moustached Turca and Black-fronted Ground-

Day 5: Coastal North birding from Santiago and Viña del

Slightly north from Santiago and just along the coast we will
look for Humboldt Penguin, Guanay Cormorant, Red-legged
Cormorant, White-winged, Red-gartered and Red-fronted
Coots, Inca Tern, Green-backed Firecrown, Chilean Seaside
Cinclodes, Wren-like Rushbird, Plain-mantled Tit-Spinetail,
Fire-eyed Diucon and Chilean Swallow.

Day 6: Full day birding at La Campana National Park

The park only opens at 8:00 AM, once entering we will be
looking for Chimango Caracara, Chilean Pigeon, Striped
Woodpecker, Thorn-tailed Rayadito, Plain-mantled Tit-
Spinetail, Moustached Turca, White-throated Tapaculo, Fire-
eyed Diucon, Chilean Swallow, Chilean Mockingbird, Austral
Thrush, Gray-hooded Sierra-Finch, Common Diuca-Finch
and Austral Blackbird.

Day 7: Pelagic birding trip off Valparaiso

The pelagic excursion off Valparaiso are very productive for
this area very productive and rich waters with lots of fish and
plankton. The waters of Valparaiso may produce Humboldt
Penguin, Northern Royal Albatross, Black-browed Albatross,
Buller’s Albatross, Salvin's Albatross, Southern Giant Petrel,
Northern Giant Petrel, Cape Petrel, Masatierra Petrel, White-
chinned Petrel, Pink-footed Shearwater, Sooty Shearwater,
Peruvian Diving-Petrel, Peruvian Booby, Guanay Cormorant,
Inca Tern, South American Tern, Common Tern and Chilean
NIGHT Hotel in Algarrobo.

Day 8: Great birding at Cartagena Lagoon, El Peral and
Maipo River

Today we will visit various hábitats in search for Stripe-
backed Bittern, Chiloe Wigeon, Red Shoveler, Lake Duck,
Chimango Caracara, Spot-flanked Gallinule, Red-gartered
Coot, Red-fronted Coot, South American Tern, Wren-like
Rushbird, Many-colored Rush-Tyrant, Austral Negrito,
Chilean Mockingbird, Austral Thrush, Long-tailed
Meadowlark and Austral Blackbird.

Day 9: Departure to Santiago de Chile

In the morning, we will be transferred to Santiago de Chile to
catch our flights home.
